Every Email Your Restaurant Sends, and When

None of these are marketing emails. Nobody at menu-MENA is deciding to send you a promotional blast, everything that lands in your inbox from the platform is tied to something specific that just happened in your account, an order, a reservation, a new team member, a billing date. Here's the full set, and what actually triggers each one.

Three switches, one settings section

Orders, reservations, and the weekly summary all live under one Notification Preferences section, owner-only, a branch-scoped manager doesn't see it. Orders and reservations default to on, the weekly summary defaults to off. Each one is its own switch, turning off order emails doesn't touch the other two.

New order notification

The moment an order is logged, whether it came through WhatsApp or was rung up on the POS terminal, the owner gets an email with the order details and a direct link back to the Orders board. On by default, off with one switch if you'd rather rely on the board itself during service and skip the inbox ping.

Reservation emails

Activity on your reservation book generates its own emails, tied to a request coming in or a change in status, also on by default with its own switch. If you're not checking the admin panel constantly during service, this is what tells you a new request landed or something on the calendar changed without you having to go looking for it.

The weekly summary

Unlike the other two, this one starts off. It's a standing digest rather than something tied to a single event, built for the owner who wants a periodic read on how things are going without logging in specifically to check numbers, but you have to turn it on first, it won't show up in your inbox by default.

Team invite email

Owner and manager are the only two roles in the system, and a manager account only exists because an owner sent an invite for it. That invite is an email, and it's the actual mechanism, not a formality, that gets a new manager into your account with their own login.

Subscription reminder emails

These come from the billing side specifically, sent through Postmark, and cover the moments that actually matter for keeping your branches live: a trial approaching its end, a payment that needs attention. They tie directly into how the trial and grace period work, the reminder is what gives you the window to act before anything about your account changes.

Why it's worth knowing the full list

Once you know what each one means, an email from the platform stops being something to skim past. A new order email means exactly one thing happened. A reservation email means exactly one thing happened. None of them are guessing at what you might want to know, they're reporting on what actually did.

Frequently Asked Questions

By default, yes. The moment an order is logged, the owner gets an email with the order details and a link straight back to the [Orders board](/en/blog/orders-dashboard-guide). It's on by default, and it's one of three switches in Notification Preferences, so it can be turned off on its own without touching the other two.

Activity on a reservation, a new request coming in through your public menu, or a change to its status, is what generates one. It's on by default too, and it has its own switch in Notification Preferences, separate from the order one. If you're running your [reservation book](/en/blog/reservation-management-dashboard) actively, this is what keeps you from having to refresh the admin panel to notice something new landed.

It's a digest rather than something tied to one event, meant as a periodic check-in on the account. Unlike the order and reservation emails, it's off by default, you turn it on from the same Notification Preferences section if you want it.

When an owner adds a manager. [Manager access only exists if the owner sends an invite](/en/blog/team-roles-staff-permissions) in the first place, there's no manager account that exists without one, and the invite email is that step, the thing that actually gets a new manager into the account.

They cover billing: a trial that's about to end, a payment that needs attention, the kind of thing you'd want to know before it affects whether your branches stay live. These tie directly into [how trials and the grace period work](/en/blog/subscription-billing-trial-guide) behind the scenes.

Orders, reservations, and the weekly summary each have their own on/off switch in Notification Preferences, visible to the account owner only, a branch-scoped manager doesn't see this section at all. The invite email and the subscription reminders aren't in that list, they're tied directly to an action (someone was invited, a billing date is approaching) rather than being an ongoing preference to opt in or out of.
